She took the book silently and watched him leave with a heavy heart. She sat the book on his desk, she really wasn't in the mood for reading. She looked around the room again. It wasn't exactly small. Not as small as one would think a room behind a bookcase would be. It was actually like a walk in closet. There'd be space for many bookshelves and even a small cot if there was a need for one.

She felt like she needed one. She wanted to curl up into a ball and just wait for Benjamin to come back. He wanted to die. He just wanted to go through the motions of life as it was in the past and get murdered like before. All he wanted to know was 'who'. She could understand she guessed, why he wanted to go. He lived hundreds of lifetimes being a ghost, and it wasn't fair to him to do it all over again.

She then felt guilty for wanting to keep him with her. But...if he was alive he wouldn't be a pet to wait for her to come home. He'd at least be alive and with her...She sighed, but in her heart of hearts, that once they found out who killed him, and why...they'd be sent back to her time. Both alive.
