April yelped and jumped back when the charger on the laptop sparked as Benjamin was right next to it. The screen went black and all the lights in the house went out. Then there was a weird pulling sensation like a vacuum was pulling her somewhere.

It was dark and she felt like she was falling. She screamed and then she couldn't remember what happened after that since she blacked out.

When she finally came to she blinked her eyes and let them go into focus. She was laying on something soft, yet solid at the same time...and it was alive! She scrambled off whatever it was and looked around. She saw Benjamin there...but he wasn't a ghost anymore. He was...flesh and blood. She somehow was on top of him on the floor in the kitchen. However, it wasn't her kitchen. The fridge was gone. The microwave too. Everything was replaced with older things. A wood-burning stove, an icebox. Stuff from a bygone era.

"What the heck?" she said to herself aloud. She turned to look back at Benjamin. "A...are you...alive?" she asked poking at him. She jumped back when her finger hit flesh and didn't phase through him.
