In theory, I figured they'd be easier to learn on. But no real project in mind.
I mean, with the fuzzy, chunky yarn I'm using, my practice piece will probably be a thick scarf? I did 2 rows last night. Took forever to remember how to do the long tail cast on, and it was not easy finding a knit tutorial that had good images, but wasn't a video. But it's slowly coming back to me. I did self-teach myself to knit about 9-10ish years ago, but gave it up when I discovered looms. I hadn't actually made anything other than some mismatched fuzzy leg warmers anyway. But I want to learn needle knitting and crocheting because there are more patterns for those than for looming currently and I would like to actually try some intricate shawls or cardigans eventually. More intricate than currently exists on looms anyway. (Although there are some awesome people out there who are making and converting patterns for looms, which is cool.)
