Far to the North is one of my current favorites, as is
Tigress Queen, by the same artist as FttN.
Aquapunk is one that I've been reading for awhile now. Story's interesting and so is the arts.
Vattu is another long-running comic that I read each week, and the artist also has other stories he does.
Dumbing of Age is a daily webcomic by David Willis, about college life. It also covers some sensitive topics, and is on a sliding timescale.

Harbormaster, but not the most recent one. The link in my signature goes to the very first page, which is where I recommend starting at anyway...
