Can... can I still talk about N:A here?

I finally got back to it and finished the first playthrough today, which I great enjoyed, but I felt like the ending sequence sacrificed some immersion for emotional high-notes. Namely,

when 2B strangles 9S and is crying over him... is it explained anywhere that androids need to breath? How does that kill him? We saw in the opening that they're just made up of cables inside, it feels wrong to me. Like, I understand why they did it that way, and it was very emotional to watch, but from a realism perspective, unless there's something I'm missing, it doesn't make all that much sense.

Likewise, why does 2B even have the functionality to cry? She's an intelligently designed life form made for fighting and killing, why would her creators waste the effort to install synthetic tear ducts on her? That scene played like they were both human.

If there's a reason for either of those that comes up in the further playthroughs, don't tell me, though. I just started 9S's and killed Simone in the theme park... only for my game to crash, so now I'm too annoyed to keep playing it. >___<
