Colors that are deposited onto your hair generally stay there.
So if you're putting one color, over another color, its literally just that-- covered up. I've had SO many instances where I didn't use a color remover, or bleached out the color where the previous color just stuck around. xD

Even right now, I decided to go red for a little while, so I can grow my hair out and allow my hair a rest from bleach damage, that when it starts fading, the grayish-purple I had underneath comes through xD; So the ends look like this crazy volcano ash red color.
