The only thing I know I've had that's authentic is Japanese food--since the Japanese food that I like I've tried there. I've only ever had Japanese curry in Japan, and omurice once in America and twice in Japan.
Convenience store onigiri tastes a lot better from a Japanese family run store here in America than from Japanese convenience stores though :o
