To prove I can also do family friendly, I hereby bring you The Match Girl's Carol, inspired by a tale of Hans Christian Andersen.
(Death by Mirrors' Entry)
The Match Girl's Carol
Hear my voice
Shout against the noise
Do you need some light?
Sellin' batches
Of my sulfur matches
This stormy Christmas night
Oh I'm just a little match girl
Whirling about outside
And when the winds and the ice twirl
I've no place to run nor to hide
Hear me shout
Get the message out
Do you need some food?
Light a match
From your precious batch
Then you smell a feast so good
Oh I'm just a little match girl
Whirling about outside
And when the winds and the ice twirl
I've no place to run nor to hide
Fingers bare
In the icy air
Do you need some heat?
Light a match
When the doors all latch
For a shelter from the sleet
Oh I'm just a little match girl
Whirling about outside
And when the winds and the ice twirl
I've no place to run nor to hide
Feet all cold
Still no matches sold
Do you need some love?
Strike them all
Light them on the wall
To guide angels from above
Oh I'm just a little match girl
Whirling about outside
And when the winds and the ice twirl
My flickering flame's hope and delight
