Kellan waved good-bye to Samuel when they left him his own room. He wasn't really given to treating servants as servants when he could help it. Or rather, he did treat servants as servants, only his way of treating them was partly to help him remember servants were potentially dangerous people.

When Jei spoke up quickly, Kellan grinned. "I like the old suite too. It's a lot more charming than a room besides." He preferred being close to Jei, though as for why, he refused to think about it, and attempted to convince himself it was solely for Jei's nightmares.
