Alexander: I've heard people say it was Summer, Spring, or Fall that Christ was actually born in. To me, it just means Christianity lacks that extra bit of foresight and plausibility.
I agree that the Christmas Season is more about gift-giving and well-wishing than actual Christianity, but I work in Retail and every time that season starts to get close, I have to put up with a lot of people getting upset with me because I say, "Seasons Greetings" instead of "Merry Christmas," because I don't celebrate Christmas personally.
Maybe because of that I'm used to people getting up in my face about "how awesome Christ is." I mean, funniest one was when a guy wearing a baseball cap that had "Jesus Loves You" in sharpie on it was being really rude and condescending to me. I asked him if he'd ever heard the phrase, "Do unto others as you wish others to do unto you.." Needless to say it didn't go over very well. xD
