"Lords of Tharios"

youngest heir to Tharios' crown
older brother already contently situated on the throne with a wife and heirs of his own by the time Aren reaches an age of sexual discovery.
has always (secretly) enjoyed his sisters 'forcing' him to play dressup.
starts crossdressing at age twelve

catches the interest of the heir to the Amarin lordship (in Amarin, females are forbidden by law from ruling. Fathers property until wed (essentially sold) to husband, then becoming his property instead. Hence Torricks older sister Keane not being named as heiress; law has been abolished in the rest of the country)
Torrick Amarin begins courting Aren, unaware of young prince's true identity
once discovered, enraged that he's been made such a fool of, Torrick rapes Aren.
now 'disgraced', he is forced into marriage with his abuser (goes for any male or female of Kelarim who is a victim of rape)

I've only got a couple short little ficlets about the world and characters written so far- I'm not even sure if they're royal, or just middle/upper class nobles.

There's Theroen, Kellan(17-18-ish), Serra(15), Jei(15), and Mirai(6), and their parents, of course... plus the occasional servant.

Jei and Kellan are my main characters in the stories. Their father and oldest brother, Theroen, died when Jei was 10, trying to save him and his little sister from a fire. Jei relies on Kellan a lot for comfort from his memories and nightmares of the fire, often sneaking through the house to his brother's room to seek that comfort out.
They're closer than brother's should be, but not so close as to call themselves lovers, at least not yet.

Many in their world are very much against homosexuality. Should their mother find out about them, she'd send Jeisyn away, and disown him to avoid scandal. Some families have been known to have paid others to kill the gay members of their family.
