It could just be my luck but half the time when I go play with marigolds as a kid (and dahlias) the mofos would come straight out the flower itself and send me screaming into the opposite direction. -casually looks up random info online-
"Earwigs feed on tender plants and can damage lettuce, strawberries, dahlias, marigolds, zinnias and roses."
so apparently it is one of their favorite meals, makes sense now D: -shudders-
