I misread that as "read this" - yay, nightmares!
I know enough to know that doesn't match what I know of ants. Some can fly, spit a corrosive substance, inject venom, rend flesh, etc. But the ones that leave fleshless corpses within hours do not look or act like typical ants. Argentine ants try, but don't quite get there.
And I know of very few ant "kings" - ants generally have a eusocial culture that gives the appearance of a hive mind through chemical signals, like breadcrumbs or signal flares (though if that were an actual gestalt entity, you likely wouldn't have fire ants acting in "oligarchies", enslaving other ants, integrating foreigners, etc.)
Bullet ants inject a venom comparable to feeling shot by a bullet, are easily aggressive, and fall from trees while shrieking at you. Also used in indigenous male adulthood ceremonies.
Army ants have no settlement - they travel like a nomadic river of blind saber-toothed starving army engineers with corrosive vomit.
...Did I mention Aliens are based on Giger's biomechanical surreal art, ants, and wasps?
