o-o Free Willy is like a 1990's classic! Done by Warner Brothers...

They like.. started making the movie, and felt bad for the whale that stared in the show.. after the movie ended the REAL Whale wasn't actually free'd and so people started the 'Free Willy/Keiko' project.

it would have worked if that rich guy didn't loose all his money in the .com crash ono he was funding EVERYTHING!

Keiko (the whale that played willy in the first movie) died in 2003, about a month or so after his release back into the wild. ono he jumped from pod to pod, never finding his original family, then ended up in Norway's ocean giving rides to kids and other people.. he was so lonely he decided to go back to humans. He died in Norway. -sniffles- at least he died FREE! Dx

He was caught in 1970 something.

o3o look up the movies, they're awesome.. (in the first movie, some parts of Free Willy were computer generated cause they couldn't really 'free the whale' >.>, in the second and third movie, they used a robotic replica cause Keiko was in the process of being rehabilitated.)


If you watch Free Willy (the first one) where his fins meet his body, you'll see this bumpy stuff, that's actually a really bad skin rash caused by the warm fake saltwater used in his tiny tank.. ono

His Dorsal Fin really was flopped over because he couldn't swim enough to get the exorcise he needed.

If he woulda stayed in that tank in mexico, he would have died with in months, he lived to see the age of 27, second longest living captive Orca

While he was being rehabilitated, 17 orca's died in SeaWorlds 'care' and seaworld is all "that whale would have lived longer if he stayed in captivity".. and they just lost Unna D:< she barely lived half of what Keiko did!

Keiko would have lived longer if they had the money to fund the project. OnO

FREE THE WHALES! D:< SeaWorld and SixFlags are enemies to Dolphins and Whales everywhere!
