Kylo's struggling with the Light side of the Force calling to him is a wonderful throwback to Luke's own struggle with the Dark side. And like how Luke was able to throw it off, so was Kylo. I'm glad we finally have an 'evil' character who had his chance to be redeemed and did not take it.
Also, the usage of the Force was done much better. It's taken much more seriously when people aren't leaping around and flying everywhere. I would say that 7 has a definite chance of being the best out of all seven movies so far.
Kylo's chance at redemption was very predictable, everyone saw it coming. Hell the moment I saw them walk into the small portion of that room I instantly knew this was coming up and going to happen the way it did.
But like I said this is a great movie for people who haven't seen any of the other movies because of the pandering. But I thought just taking those comparisons but in reverse was just a cheap tactic to ensure a film's quality rather then coming up with something new that would of had the same effect. And seeing how the first half was, they we're more then capable of doing that.
And the usage of The Force was great. No mention of midi-chlorians anywhere to be mention! Bravo, let's just ignore that they ever existed. And delving into the power of visions was the best. We've seen visions before but not in the way demonstrated, the way it was used in the film was well executed and the special effects just shows how great the technology has become over the years. By far the best use of the Force.
