For the early-to-mid game, the kitties are WAY better than the ogres, even after ultimate evolution. They have better stats overall and more broadly useful active skills.

The only reason the ogres are more useful than the kitties later on is because their skills are useful in SPECIFIC situations -- active skills (e.g. super king gem dragons), leader skills (easiest zombie team leader to get), and awoken skills (if you need to get your team's active skills up fast, ogres provide two very easily obtained Skill Boosts).

In particular, Kitty ShyWoodie and Kitty WoodBubblie are Physical-type so they'll work on your Cinderella team and they has higher HP and RCV than the ogres, and if you awaken them at least once you get Two-Pronged Attack, which makes a 4-in-a-row (no more, no less) hit substantially harder than an ogre, and hit two opponents at the same time (VERY useful for Wednesday/Friday dungeons -- it makes them effectively QUAD-element).

Cinderella / ShyWoodie / WoodBubblie / Ice Armor Ogre / Wood Ice Ogre becomes a pretty effective early-game team for those dungeons.

EDIT: The Pal Egg Machine drops the light and dark ogres (Shouki and Jyaki). They are, unfortunately, not dual-element, but they have the same active, leader, and awoken skills.
