Though he does jump back and away a few times to catch his breath in order to study Akira's actions and to catch his breath.

Recovering some of her strength Yusa grabs some needles and applies a paralysis toxin onto them, then waits for her chance. During one of the times that the ninja jumps back she throws the needles at him, pricking him slightly. Surprised, he looks over at Yusa and lunges towards her.
