Oh, theology time! Have you heard the word of Ba'al? (And now, the character of one of the stories I am working on hates me...)

Truth is, either way it all comes back to humanity and sucking. If religion is wrong and there is no god, blame humanity for the harm their own mental construct has caused. If 75% of religions are right, the blame for violence and all still lies on humanity according to god(s).

Also, it is easier to define "consciousness" than it is to define a general "god"...and last I read we had to resort to calling what the majority of people in a test/questionnaire considered consciousness to be the definition of it. (Not really a good practice for coming up with a scientific definition of something...I think...)

Personally, I consider the argument a waste of time when we have more immediate issues - like caring for people and making sure we don't allow the Earth to become a less hospitable place...

Does it boil my blood the way several of them act? Yes. Can I change that human beings are like this? No...however, I can make sure I am not like this, and I can try to help people whenever possible.

Some people are naturally going to want to stab one another in the back. Doesn't stop me from trying to be their friend...and hey, if someone stabs me in the back, at least I'll make the tabloids!
