Oh wow, that is incredible! I didn't even realize that many languages existed, let alone were spoken in India alone! I'll admit my world cultures education is somewhat lacking, so it's fascinating to learn so much new information!
Wow, learning to speak Hindi is mandatory? That is unusual. You know, I was just thinking the other day how lovely it would be to have a language, one created specifically so all people can communicate with each other, you know? Rather than have everyone learn one language like English or Chinese or Spanish or anything, create a language that has no ties to one country so it will not feel like that country is forcing their language on us or somehow superior. I know some people can be super sensitive about things like that, but I would really love to be able to have everyone capable of communicating with each other no matter where they are from. Do you know what I mean? Imagine all the things we could learn from each other if we could all communicate this easily.
I think it is beautiful that there are so many different languages though, giving everyone their own unique way of speaking. Accents, languages, expressions, they all interest me quite a bit. I love learning about cultural differences as well. I had a girl from Holland in my store the other day and she commented how a candy bar we sell looks so different where she is from. I never would have even thought they'd package it differently in other countries, but apparently they do! It was really fun to learn that.
So what brought you to the States? Were you on vacation or just travelling? Business maybe?
