And believe it or not I have a friend like that, in fact numerous friends like that who occasionally like to go out but mostly spend time at home. One of my friends spends his time at home making art. And I would be miffed if my friends did that.

Meh, there are some things you can do by yourself. XD what you could try is not listening to others so much and decide for yourself. You know what level of company you like to keep so you may be able to find a person that likes that same level of companionship. -shrugs- Like all of my friends respect when I want to be a hermit.
