Well, a 30 minute drive will take you to a town (Father's hometown).
The main street has (I can't remember how many...20? 40? 80?) sex offenders...with the school also on that road.
Also, several water sources (Not the main river - is still okay) are known for contaminants (nuclear testing, furniture factory that dumped pollutants.)... we love our 2-headed physically hermaphroditic fish/frogs.
