I tend to do that, apparently (this isn't the first community where I've been told that). I'll admit, I was slightly amused after I posted that introduction and immediately received an achievement named "MEGAPOST." Then I looked at the achievement and saw that it's rewarded for posts that are half the size of my introduction.
That was... yeah, "amusing" is the right word.

I'm just exceptionally shy in general -- I tend not to talk very much in any case (which probably explains, at least to some extent, why I tend to write so verbosely). That's not necessarily directed at Trisphee in particular -- or forums in general -- I'm just naturally very timid. Needless to say, I've been diagnosed with social anxiety disorder, but the fact that this is an online community with some relative distance to everything is pretty much what enabled me to say anything at all.
It's really that initial entry-barrier that's almost insurmountable to me in most circumstances. That, and anything which involves lots of fast-paced communication or large groups of people -- fortunately, this site seems relatively small and slower than most. For me, that's a very good thing.

That probably is where I'll spend a decent amount of time. I'll admit, I'm also... uncertain about displaying anything that I've written both out of natural fear (which is usually something along the lines of a fear of rejection or personal embarrassment) and due to the fact that I don't know how appropriate some of the things I've written are. My poems and short stories tend to be...
very dark.

One of my favorite quotes of all time. Unfortunately, I don't know who actually said it, though I'm sure the internet would tell you it's either Mark Twain or Albert Einstein (since they've apparently said absolutely everything that was ever worth saying in the first place). Here's the sarcasm in case you missed it.
And... "uncertainty" is something of an understatement, but I appreciate the thought behind that. Thank you, at least, for trying to put me at ease.

If I'm going to live up to my reputation for brutal honesty... I'll just say that I'm incredibly unsure. I'd like to talk more and get to know people perhaps slightly better, at least, but I've never been able to find a community of people that actually appealed to me, personally.
That shouldn't be taken as an insult or offensively in any way -- that says more about me than it does about anyone or anything else. I'm just... very particular.
