"Stinky." She laughs, "But it's freein' in a way. 'S jus' like regular life up there, but ain' nobody gon' judge you for flyin' to work or havin' horns or glowin' eyes. I met Harold here." She sighs, it sounds like a gentle sigh. The sound of someone deeply in love. "Sure, s'a dirty place. Lots o'roguh people down there. But 's home for those who ain' got none."
As they walk, the wall ends and gives way to a metal guardrail, and the two can see that they are high above a massive, vast sphere carved out of the earth. It's large and humid here--stinky, just like Trissie promised, it smells of something old. Clouds hang near the top of the ceiling, as if this place is it's own ecosystem. Down below, there are buildings made of metal and there are many made out of rock, and there's a startling amount of trees and plants growing on the rock or on the rooftops of high rise buildings or in parks. Though the majority of the carved out rock looks like square buildings and some roads, there's a n area left completely and totally grassy and filled with trees. There are massive vents on the spherical walls and ceiling and there are even bigger holes that sometimes have lights coming from them and sometimes they do not. Some vents and holes have paths built out of rock leading to them, but many don't. As they walk, the other side of the staircase opens up and leads to a path, and down that path there are homes carved right out of the stone with grass and moss growing over them and even a tiny river. As they continue down, he notices that there are many of these paths all around the hollow sphere in the ground, there are occasionally ribbons of carved-out spaces where homes and school buildings and small shops and libraries and things sit. Their staircase seems to be leading to a main city road below. Trissie says nothing, but she turns to watch his reaction to the city...
