Bald and loving it!
Its been ten years since I read the hobbit and seeing the movie amused me. I honestly have not watched the second LOTR because it makes me fall asleep and this movie had enough lull moments to make me do the same.
I am usually blown away by the cinematography in these movies but not yesterday. Honestly it made me dizzy watching all those zoom out shots of the movie then spinning, then close ups. I vaguely remember a lot of stuff from the book and honestly a lot of the movie threw me off. This could have been a one movie book. Its short enough but because they added in things from books I had not read, I got lost. I have no idea who the necromancer is, why the orcs want to chase the dwarves (Though suze’s rant and my friends have given me insight. ) In fact I thought that Bilbo stabbed Smaug in the eye and that was why he grew upset an left the mountain.
I like the first movie because it was close to the book. I mean gandolf was funny, the dwarves were happy go lucky and funny. I understand that a hard journey will keep you from lol’s but come on. All you need in life is food fun and a good pipe. I have not seen Bilbo complain about or want to smoke in this.
Mostly I am waiting for the Battle of five Species. It will be epic and beautiful and Peter Jackson has 3 hours of my attention span to tie up plots that did not exist. We will see what can be done.
