*relaxes continuing to rub hair* Yeah the bones in your hands and feet are realllly small, they can't reset a break near the ends so most people just call it a sprain even if you have a hairline fracture. Leaving the muscle in a single state lets it rest more, and then once you start working it more the unused muscles constrict making the bone stay in place while it heals. A day or two and it will be fine to move a little bit.

Size comparison, the largest bone in your hand is the 3rd metacarpal (bone that runs through your hand connecting your wrist to your middle finger) and it is around the same size a a chicken drumstick bone in an Adult male. Smallest is the pistaform and that is around the size of the eraser attached to your pencil, and is in your wrist.
