I know people who do what your aunt does, and that always makes me cringe. My partner loves to read, but doesn't really handle books with care, especially paperbacks. But I would probably cry if I saw someone tear out pages of a book and throw them away! That poor book! Now no one can ever read it again! T^T However, I have actually done that with a friend once before. It was a bible. And we put the pages to good use - origami animals. >.>
