Long:
Na'lsa began as a demon of gluttony, latching on to the very being of those that have indulged themselves in far too much. Being at first not even a spirit possessing consciousness, he fed himself through single celled organisms up to actual creatures. His consciousness became manifest during the late 1800's in Tsavo, Africa. Possessing a group of lions, he ravaged hundreds before his hosts were killed by a John Patterson. But in his hosts being killed, he discovered a new kind he could now take: Humans. Not able to control this kind, he still found he could influence it, and feed off of their unique and easily tainted souls.
Na'lsa slowly but surely grew, eventually latching on to the soldier known as Lev. Becoming more powerful, he eventually found he was more persuasive. The further Lev was pushed towards death, the more will he could directly exert. During the meeting of the current party, Lev experienced enough trauma to bring Na'lsa to the forefront of his consciousness. Seizing his chance, Na'lsa forced Lev to consume the flesh of other beings. He wasn't in complete control, but he could assume it. Everything changed for the worse when he consumed the flesh of the dead Saint. Devouring the very power in the dead man's flesh unhinged his mind, and transferred to him power over flesh itself. He is essentially wired in to any living material he inhabits, and can spread himself almost like a disease. He has full control over Lev's body to the point of reforming it in to various shapes, completely enveloping/consuming creatures and storing their raw material for later constructs, or absorbing their very power and using it for his own.
He is essentially what he eats, and after consuming the Saint has come to believe that he is the son of God, and it is his mission to restore Heaven itself. The group is his flock, although sometimes a weak sheep may need to be culled, or fed to the herd itself to strengthen it.
He has consumed quite a few other persons of power in his time, and now teeters between the brink of madness and complete clarity. His being and Lev's soul are too intertwined for him to simply leave. So for now, he has an actual body. And since he can essentially weave any flesh he possesses, he is damn near impervious to physical wounds. However, he possesses almost no psychic capabilities and can detect absolutely nothing. Simply put, he is powerful over anything physical and organic, helpless to a psychic assault, and mad enough to not realize the difference.
His only downside is his own lust for more power. Being a demon of gluttony, his next quench of hunger is only sated long enough to entertain thoughts of something larger. He has made regular attacks at some of the party and has even taken a small chunk out of Dante. He has calmed down since thinking of them as his 'flock', although he still resists urges to consume them. If however he goes long enough without eating something/someone, he does become a bit...unraveled.
FUN FACTS: The backstory for both are heavily inspired by the Maneaters of Tsavo and John Carpenter's The Thing. Lev (meaning Lion in Russian) is also known as Lev of Tsavo. Na'lsa is 'Aslan' backwards. Because hey why not I never got to make the Narnia jokes when the movies came out.
Did you really read this far? Gosh. I'm sorry. Whew.

No need to apologize, that was actually fun to read. >w>
If it weren't for the fact that he's a cannibal and not real, I'd totally love to have him as a pet. He sounds so adorable! <3

I'm blunt and direct.
I like to lurk and observe.
