And even then bigender and androgynous aren't synonymous terms; while both refer to a blend of male and female traits (and some people consider bigender to be a subtype of androgyny) they're different identities.

Edit: Bisexual is NOT bigender. Bisexual refers to what partners you're attracted to; bigender refers to having an identity consisting of two genders. Your teacher is quite simply wrong and you shouldn't take what she says for granted.
