It's pretty much the same in this part of Ohio. xD
I live in the southwestern corner, so we get ridiculous weather too. Though my town seems to get it oddly worse than anyone else over here. ( If you'd never heard of Xenia, Ohio, it's a pretty strange town weather-wise, and is notorious for it. I believe our courthouse has a slogan that's really similar to "if you don't like the weather, then wait ten minutes" as well. xD )
Last year we had a thunderstormblizzard ( I believe either Chicago or Cleveland had it too ) where it was packing snow like nobody's business but cracking thunder everywhere.
Sidenote: Weather here also makes people act odd. There was a guy walking around in that thunderblizzard with a shotgun, just wandering around. Heard it over the police scanner rofl
