I'm a shut-in so I have all the time in the world.
Well, I would. But oddly enough, shut-ins have their own problems too. @__@
But lol you should see mmosite. It's full of know-it-alls and PvP exploiters, newbie griefers, ego maniacs, narcissists, wannabe techies, a surprisingly massive homophobic group, and trolls galore. My explanation for all these butthurt dipwits have a large collection of reasons:
The PvP exploiters more than likely are the same ones who make it their goal in life to grief other players. This is like the biggest group of idiots who can make a game really suck for people like me who like to go at their own pace and enjoy it without having to think about who's going to camp your ass and make you miserable. Sooo
1. They can't steal loot, since it's distributed to every player separately. Can't piss off anyone there.
2. Can't kill-steal. You just land one hit on it and you get equal credit no matter what. You can't rush in front of a player and kill their mobs before they can, so you can't push them out of an area to keep it for yourself. So greifing there is useless.
3. No open PvP. Can't go camp a newbie or lower level player anywhere to make their playing experience shitty and boost your ego. Even if it were open PvP, with the level-adjusting system they have, you're liable to get your own ass kicked no matter how many levels you are above a level 10, if they're not pushovers.
4. WvWvW automatically has you at lv80, and you're swarming with groups of people from your own server. Since it's a group effort, you can't single out people there unless they're wandering around by themselves, in which case they're just asking to be ganked. Can't boost your ego with that since griefers tend to work solo - I take it as a predator-eat-predator thing; two douchebags can't be in the same place at once or the most immature world/map chat spectacle will happen within moments.
5. Can't hoard the goods. PvP gear, cultural sets, costumes, etc are all soulbound or accountbound. Can't go farming or finding exploits to sell tons of them on the trading post. No get-rich-off-the-less-informed scheme since there's also a smart and quick "highest buyer" vs "lowest seller" arrangement that makes it really easy to spot the moneygrubbers from those trying to actually sell shit. No extensive scrolling or quantity tricks to switch your mind into thinking "Oh 1g is the lowest price for one of these +totally overlooks the 1g for 5 of 'these'+" since it automatically calculates that crap for you. So to hell with the Donald Trumps of the gaming world. You get rich in GW2, it's honest and hurts no one.
6. These guys only think ego ego ego, rush rush rush, so they don't appreciate the vistas and graphics as much as the rest of us. They want to hit cap and own face ( mostly through exploits and glitches instead of honestly ) so they think the jumping puzzles are stupid. ( In which I say go back to League of Legends or WoW. )
7. Just like in 6, like hell they'd take the time to appreciate the story too. They'd treat it like "oh that's too nerdy for me, I'm just here to be the best at everything" and they'd just rush through it without taking the time to read everything. And then they whine about how it wasn't deep enough for them and didn't have a good story. Lawl.
8. Group effort. Usually I'm a soloer too ( so the no need for a party thing is really really a lifesaver game-wise and I loooovvve it. /end sidenote ) but so are the greifers. They would hate group events being shared credit. Then they scream about all the unskilled "nubs" getting credit for their kills. Even though they get credit too.. ( I find it pretty sad that they think gaming should require skill. It's a game. Not synchronized swimming. )
9. Though there is a cash shop, it does not carry items that will put players ahead of others. It's mostly cosmetic with a few boosts - which you get as prizes for completing maps and other random drops, so it's really not unfair; plus you can buy gems with gold - so you can't buy to win. Of course these guys will turn it around and say the boosts ( which are just karma boosts, magic find, exp, etc. And really who needs the exp boost? THERE IS SO MUCH EXP TO EARN IN-GAME, IT'S ALMOST TOO EASYYYY, rofl. ) are unfair to players who can't pay, when really they're mad that it ISN'T that way. ( Whenever you see a troll shouting "GW2 IS B2W" you'll know they're one of those. ) Anyway, can't flash your cash and blast to the top within moments, which causes richkid slanderflubs.
Pretty sure there's more, but those are the big reasons in my opinion.
But I like this because this chases away the people who cause major problems. Makes the community nice and helpful, like it is already. I just laugh whenever I see these reasons being used in someone's argument about why "GW2 is soooo bad". Because it makes it easy to pick out what kind of person they are. Most cases, the idiot whining about the game being "boring" are the same people camping weaker players in games like Loong and former Prius.
... Crafty player filtering system, right? xDD Make a good game and the griefers go running. WHO WOULD'A THOUGHT?
