Vader: That's pretty much what I meant when I talk about how I think the majority of people in this country aren't serious about this ( meaning, they only think Donkey or Elephant and that's that ). They don't think for themselves; if you vote, you should vote for who you want in office, not for who you think most people are voting for. It disgusts me that it's like this. That's why, to me, it feels like a bunch of strangers are "gangraping" my lifestyle. Instead of moving on and thinking for others besides themselves, they, as Lucid's friend put it very well, treat this like American Idol.
I do still think it is very ignorant if people don't know about or don't care to know about the other two candidates in this election, or any at all, and they still intend to vote. It's not hard to go online and look them up; the bottom line, to me, is that if you're an American citizen, it's your duty to help your country seriously, viewing all options you can to better pick your poison or antidote, and you should be serious about it. But I'm fully aware that, to put it harshly, this country is full of dolts who don't give a crap about that. They're more worried about what their favorite celebrity is wearing or if the candidate is christian or not. It makes me want to puke. Dx
( TL;DR - I know what you're saying and I'm very aware of it, but those who only vote because of majority or tradition instead of priorities and who will actually get the job done, are ignorant, in my opinion, though I know my opinion wont change it, lol. I take this pretty seriously since it effects me and where I live very delicately right now. )

Edit - also, I want to clarify, I'm not saying this stuff as a "if you vote mainstream, you're ignorant". I'm saying, if you vote without giving each candidate a look, you're not taking it seriously. If you have actually done research and took it seriously, and you still choose Obama or Romney, then hey, that's your choice, and that's respectable. But if you're one of those "OBAMA'S GONNA GIVE ME MONEY, AND HE'S BLACK" or "ROMNEY'S GONNA MAKE US RICH, AND HE BELIEVES IN GOD" kind of people who only vote based upon what they see on television, then honestly, I do not think those people should vote at all. They don't take it seriously, they don't give a fair look to each candidate and they're driving this country into the ground, taking every single person who actually seriously wants to make this country better, down with them against their will.

Anyway

I like Paul Ryan as well, which actually will make me feel loads better if Romney is elected. Ryan is no Biden; he wont be a puppet, nor will he sit back silently if he thinks something is wrong. I respect him enough to think, with him as VP, it might be a good idea if I had to go mainstream, to go with Romney. That's another thing about Obama too; you can tell the candidate by their choice in VP as well. Obama, in my opinion, picked Biden because Biden doesn't say or do anything. He's just there as a requirement. Ryan, however, gets shit done.
Lol, I also want to note how I hate a lot of Obama supporters using fear and guilt tactics to intimidate those voting for Romney. "If you're pro-rape, vote for Romney". "If you're pro-homophobes, vote for Romney". I would vote for him over Obama any day because I am pro-getting shit together. You have to hand it to the man; he didn't just sit on his ass to make that crapload of money he has. He knows how to work hard. He is also a logical guy; I highly doubt he has any interest in forcing women to put up with being raped, in whether or not two guys or two women can get married, etc. He's been more focused on jobs and economy, as far as I have seen, and that's why, at least, if he does get elected, I will sigh a breath of relief.
Even if he does bother with the social issues, the individual states can just do what they want when it comes down to it.
Being that I belong to this "LGBT" category ( hitting all the bases here ) I think it's saying something that I would rather have Romney over Obama. Just sayin'.

That doesn't change that I will stick with Gary Johnson as my main man. I vote for who I think will be best for the job, and that's him. I won't break down and "settle" for mainstream just because it's mainstream.
