However, the girl always shook it off, as she felt weird to harbor that kind of thought abou her (almost) brother. Ge was smart, that was for sure. Her father treasured that quality above anything, and everything, but Mei wouldn't say that. Instead, she merely shrugged.

" I don't care, Ge. I will stay with you if I want to," she said firmly, nodding her approval. Mei wouldn't leave Ge for anything; not even if she would get beaten for it. She felt so guilty for having Ge protect her, and at some times, Mei didn't even know why he did what he did. She wasn't anything to protect, and it would be so much better if Ge just let her take her own punishments.
