Some people just get the wrong idea, sometimes. You try to explain things to them and they'd get the wrong idea.
I can't really give you tips, but I can share what I do whenever I get in that kind of situation xD ... When I express myself, I use jokes (no sarcasm) or When I confuse the person I'm talking to, I stop, let them ask me questions and explain bit by bit, but always straight to the point.
