He noticed the Hunter looking at him, and in as few words as possible tried to get the point across that he'd managed to utterly waste his weaponry on her, then palmed the cigarette and marched out of the buffet.

Consumed by inner rage, he nearly stumbled into Jayden, stopping short and tapping him on the shoulder.

"...I need a light. And yes, you have permission to throw things at my head if you ever see me try to run," he added hastily, shattering his masquerade of nonchalance.
