Well, sure, I'm not saying Photoshop is the best tool to use -- to each his own, really, and if you're more comfortable in other tools that's fine. Photoshop is a massive tool with more options than the typical user will ever need.

And I suppose I haven't evaluated Wacom's recent bottom-of-the-line tablets on EITHER platform. The Graphire series worked equally well on both, but I haven't used anything less than an Intuos in years.
