So Raven explained how he had picked up Dan. He had spent a few night's at an ex's place, in a separate room of course. He was pretty wealthy and didn't mind letting Raven stay while he waited for a pay check from a job he had done. While he was there, he had noticed Dan and learned how she had been passed from family member to family member since no one really knew what to do with her. Since she was technically old enough to be on her own, he decided to give her a chance to escape the family for awhile if she wanted to. So he offered to show her around Eden. And she accepted.
