I never got any newbie donations. One, I was too shy and stubborn to ask for a handout. Two, I joined in the middle of the Taskal War and didn't know what in Anka's name was going on. Three, I joined in the middle of the event. I was getting things from that just fine.

Now, though, it seems like more and more newbies are like "Oh, it's so hard. I'm so poor. Give me stuff!" and then they either disappear or get all snobby afterwards. The ones that stick around and are cool to hang around with are becoming kinda rare.
