Thorns and Claws
He shrugged a little as a answer to his question of why change it. "supply and demand, consumers are lazy in the future..." It was true enough there was pre-cooked meals, heck even salads came in a bag. If robotics were more advanced he was sure that the world would fall into a even deeper spiral of laziness. Not that he was all clean of such actions... being a full time student with a part time job in a small quicky shop he didn't always have time to eat the way he wished.

He didn't want to nod when Mizuki seemed to ask if he knew of herbs. He did but he wasn't sure of his own knowledge or how well the reading he had done had settled in his mind. Truth of it was he was a bit uneasy when Mizuki seemed to walk over to some jars. He nearly wanted to retreat from the words the other said 'lets see what you can do' no pressure behind them at all. Let alone none of the jars seemed labeled. Though if they were kept by a being who could live such a extended life why bother, he probably knew what was in each of the jars.

Sure he knew his stuff in the modern world but this was different. Headache should be a easy cure, but why use it as a test. He knew this was a test, if he messed this up he would be useless. Reluctantly he walked over to where Mizuki had motioned to. Ok so the tools seemed familiar enough, this should be easy he knew what he was looking for... or rather he hoped he did, he didn't get much practice with picking out the raw materials in such a state.

Let alone it was more then unnerving to have a pair of eyes watching his every movement. At the least he did remember working on stuff similar to this when his father was trying to teach him as a child. Trying to get his head under control that he could do this he exhaled once before bothering to look for the things he needed.

After a few minutes of checking over the collection at hand he picked a few jars and vials from the shelf. Double checking their contents before he started to work to turn the amount of each selected item into a fine powder that could be used for tea brewing. This was more work then most let on to be, to get the moisture out of certain materials to make the powder dry. But either way after a while he seemed to relax a little more being half way done with the process.

This was a lot for him to take in for one day, let alone here he was trying to not mess up a simple herb remedy for a headache... though it was for a elf. After a few moments he looked over the finished product before going about to mix the tea for Mizuki who still was silently judging him. After sitting the cup down in front of the other he wanted to faint almost. He was sure it was right, he had even tossed in a few tricks he had picked up over the years to make the blend taste a little better, instead of the sour taste it normally held.
