Thorns and Claws
Evan started to protest but changed his mind on doing so. It would be rude to turn down such a offer... not only that but he had no idea when he would be able to get back to his own time. Was time even passing there? Was he reported as a missing person by now? There was too many questions he could think of and most of them he feared the answers to. So instead of giving himself a further headache he tried to stop thinking about them. At least for now, he didn't even want to think about the answer the elder had given at the moment.

For now he followed Mizuki to see where he planned to take him to stay. He found it odd that he was being offered a place and not mere hours ago this same man had tried to kill him. Everything was just happening too fast for him. His head was still killing him in a combination of the blow and the fact he couldn't stop thinking. He hated his mind for being overly active at times, during his study it was a grand thing but now.. he wanted a off switch.

After a short while Mizuki seemed to enter a larger tent, he guessed this was probably where Mizuki lived in the camp. But why would he want or be offering him a place to stay here? If he was really a spy wouldn't it be safer to lock him up somewhere? Maybe he should just count his blessings instead of questioning everything. Some things need not be answered. Either way he followed Mizuki into the tent, and to be honest was rather impressed by the layout.

Sure reading details of how camps were set up in history books were one thing, but to see them in person like this... He wasn't sure if he considered himself lucky or cursed. Maybe after or if he could get some rest he could take out the sketch pad he kept in his bag and do some sketches. It was a thought to pass the time and to keep his mind at ease at the least, though he wasn't sure he wanted to risk going about the camp and sketching the beings there... he'd rather like to keep his head attached to his body.

He nearly flinched when Mizuki spoke again. He had been lost in his thoughts so he wasn't completely paying attention. "huh? oh ..." He shook his head a little. "your a few years off, I'm 18. Next month im 19." Why did it matter? During this era it wasn't unheard of for a teen to be a fighter, not from what he had read anyway. He was a little older then his peers though, but that was from his family moving a few times when he was in middle school.

"Dose it matter? I'm old enough to work if thats what your getting at." He was sure he was going to be put to work or the fighting lines sooner or later. Nothing came for free, so it was expected. Though to admit it he was at a large disadvantage having no idea how to do any of the common day tasks during this time. Well aside from making herbal mixes and potions...
