Quiet Man Cometh
We're all mad here.
My family has it's tree based in England (well, one side of it). I keep meaning to speak to the cousins there about it to find out where it will be going to once they pass it on to the next person. I do the odd bit of looking up but nothing immence yet. Ancestry.ca is too expensive. -.-
I know from the English family tree that my family came over to English with William the Conquerer; there's a lieutanant or advisor of some sort to Wellington in there; and the colonial line comes from the Frost family which also sprouted the poet Robert Frost, but that side stayed in the USA and ours went up to Canada as loyalists.
There's some English aristocracy back there, some Earl of some sort, and a family crest that we can't find (con man got into my grandfather's stuff and we're worried he may have pawned some of the heirlooms.
On my dad's side there's more English hoity toity, as well as a Danish novelist and Olympian. Not sure what else is there. It's not as well documented as my mom's side.
Oh, and apparently the patron of the Danish chunk of the family bought a small town from the Danish King so that he could use the name as his own, since he got tired of everyone saying `from x`whenever they saw him. It might have been just the name but is sounds better this way. ;).
Tea?
