Thorns and Claws
"Evan!" Someone suddenly yelled out nearly causing Evan to drop the small stack of books he had been carrying. "Ever heard of knocking before you scream for someone? They don't have a cure all for heart attacks you know.." He said in a disapproved manner as a girl walked over to him that seemed to be about his age. She smiled before speaking up again ignoring his 'warning'. They have been looking for you, your suppose to be dressed and ready to go yet here you are with your nose in books again... how much can you learn about the plants that you don't already know?" She sighed before walking back towards the door before speaking once more. "just make sure your there, this is a class project remember? I know you don't care about the play but at least try to act like you care enough to be there for your role."

After she was gone he sighed heavily putting a few of the books back on the shelf. "I do care, this makes or breaks my grade..." he complained a little before putting the last few books away and leaving the library. He had plenty of time or so he thought to get ready and go over his lines, though they were few in number. He was to be dressed and play the part of the forces that went against the rebels back in the day. The force that lost as far as the end of the war was concerned. But either way it was still a honor to get to play such a role. He often read the history books in the library and he had to admit even though he hated performing... he was excited to get to be in the spot lite and spar 'fight' to make the role really stand out. One of his close friends was playing the rebel faction leader and that would be the ending scene of the play, the final battle.

Little did he know he would not get to play out this battle so soon... oh no first he was in for much more then he signed up for. Seeing as he had time to kill after getting dressed into the outfit to match what they wore back in the day he figured it was a good enough idea to send a few prayers to his elders. He would need all or any luck he could get to keep from freezing on stage and to keep a good enough grade to get into the college he wanted to get into so badly.

The college that would allow him to carry on his families name and make his late father proud. It would ease his mother's worry and he could finally say all of his hard work had paid off.
