December 14th, Chicago. Sewer #17. Outpost.

Leila glanced few times in Amante's direction, but seemed to pay him no attention rest of the time. It wasn't entirely true, though. The girl was quite aware of his presence and there was a mixed emotion bundle in response of his attitude. She ignored it to her best ability, but this man really had a talent of making her frustrated and confused.

Leila rose her eyes from the book, when now somewhat familiar nose of the cat reached her ears. She looked at the tunnel, but it took about five more minutes for the machine to arrive. It stopped just a bit before crashing into the first tent. Aiolia climbed out, shot a stern look Leila's way and walked over to Amante. "Hey, I am on my way to Surface and thought I could check on you."

Her tone was a little stiff, as if she was ready for another verbal rejection, and her posture switched to closed, arms crossing across the chest. Some would be able to say that she most likely bore some unpleasant news as well, but were they directed at Amante or not, it would be impossible to tell.
