It Won't Stop

'Stiff' was certainly an understatement. The man's healing certainly had done the trick, but he knew well from his own experience that his body tended to need some time to adjust. Everywhere that there had been pain was now just tightness, as if every muscle wanted to cramp up violently, but didn't quite have the energy to do so. He only managed to pull himself up to sit straight before the man was gone.

The instant that he was alone again, the room turned cold, nearly silent with the sounds from the evening blocked by all but small windows. The smile fell from Gabriel's face, but when he called after the already departed stranger, his tone was as uplifted as ever. "It's been a pleasure to meet you as well! Oh, what a kind offer, are you sure it's really alright?" He let out a quiet grunt as he pushed himself to his feet. "Such a lovely place here. Seems lonely though," the last statement having fallen to a mumble, Gabriel's tired eyes turned to the doors of the temple. He knew just what he wanted to do, but he wasn't sure he could make the long walk again. Perhaps in the morning.

Running a hand over his face, he turned, heading back to the mentioned room.

Gabriel had hardly slept that evening. It was nothing strange for him. Without a good dose of alcohol to dull his senses, he rarely slept all too well. Sometimes he worried that it showed. Usually, he just reminded himself that he takes care of himself better than many, simply thanks to his work. For now, however, he merely slept, curled up like some forgotten child, more than happy to get as much rest as his body would allow, even if it meant wasting the morning in its entirety.
