[Ishu]

December 5th, Chicago. Sewer #17.

He yelled out again as the females claws tore at his chest, removing a decent sized chunk of flesh and tossing it into her mouth before continuing at him. His eyes were fluttering shut even though he fought them. He'd lost so much blood and chunks of skin. Fighting off the poison in this state was near impossible.

Luckily, as his arms started to give, the shadows reached out and flailed the creature around. She roared, dark red hair mangled on her skull and down the top of her spinal. Sharp claws tore at the shadows and despite being blinded by them, she could still "see" her surroundings.

Wriggling out of their grasp, she landed down on all fours. she'd taken a few cuts and hits from them but she hadn't slowed down. Slicing at the shadows with her back to a wall, she growled. Even her face looked badly burned though it was normally hidden by waves of mangled hair. She snapped at them, eyes glowing yellow, and shrieked when an arrow punctured her leg.

The arrow snapped under her grip and she tore it out, throwing it in Leila's direction. The shadows over her eyes were still there, strong and lasting, but they did not seem to encumber her abilities. She ran up along the wall on all fours, gnashing and clawing at shadows as they grabbed at her again and again until, finally, she broke free and made a lung for Leila herself.
