Elijah thankfully was on the top of the couch, or was on the couch next to me. :) I would not have liked it much if he was on my lap and got scared. But, when we did have the loud thunder, he would look up, at me and meow. ^^
My mom's cat when he was alive and we had thunderstorms, before the first rumble of thunder and Rascal would be slinking around finding a hiding spot. If he was out and heard the loud thunder, he'd up and run off.
