Donnie noticed a dramatic difference in her rhythmic breathing as she fell asleep. She seemed like she would be fine and the concussion wasn't anything big to worry about or he wouldn't have allowed her to sleep. He moved her hair slightly out from in her face before moving himself away from her. Donnie wasn't quite ready to sleep just yet. The conversations he heard earlier still stung his mind.
Donnie made sure he didn't wake her. He then... kissed her forehead before heading out. He wasn't sure what had compelled him to do so, but it's not like she would ever know or remember. Donnie recalled his mother doing it for him when he was sick as a child.
Once downstairs the bartender raised his eyes to Donnie's. Surprisingly a lot of people had filed out of the place and it was getting more and more empty. Apparently they didn't want to be in the drama that went down, or needed to get back to their families or wives. Sitting at the bar, Donnie acknowledged the issue. "Sorry about... that,"
"Eh, not much a problem, Chap. I've seen much worse in my time around here. I just don't like women beaters is all. It's a bloody shame men actually lower themselves to that level," the bartender said. "You need something?"
Donnie shrugged and sighed before answering. "A place to stay, and information if you can give it," He watched the man's reaction as he told the semi-truth and the guy cleaned a few glasses. He really hoped this worked out for him and Amelia. Donnie needed to keep her safe and this place wasn't bad.
"Fin," The man said.
Donnie questioned the man on what he meant as a few more people left and one came in.
"That's my name. You need my name if either of you plan to do work around this place to earn your stay. As for information, what do you need?"
Donnie smiled and thanked the ma- Fin, and began getting the information he needed.
