The thing about that is, he doesn't know when he'll need it. Since he and I do companion avatars with him, I know how this works. When we plan our avatars, we have to play around with what we wear in order to get things looking right. If our inventories are split up like that, we're prone to forgetting what we have. It's not just a simple matter of putting unused stuff onto our alts because we don't know what we'll be using for our next avatars until we actually use it.

Also, the trade system isn't mad at just him. If the other person has a large inventory as well, that's when the problems arise.
