We're all mad here.
Is it crusty or fresh looking? If it's just crust that might be seepage. I've had to clean wounds after surgery on myself and some crusting is not too big a deal, and some yellowish gick on the bandage is not that bad either, so long as it's not eccessive. Watch out for a fever. An infected wound will generally look red and be sore and warm in my experience, and can go away on it's own with basic first aid or if your immune system is in good shape, but a fever is a major indicator that your body is fighting something and a fever soon after surgery should not be ignored.
