Experience
You gain experience by posting and battling. To gain experience and level up, you need to have your post layout in your post. Information on this can be found above. You gain 10 experience while posting, 50 experience after defeating another player, and a set amount of experience after defeating a boss.
You need a different amount of experience to level up each level:
Level 1: 200 Exp
Level 2: 400 Exp
Level 3: 600 Exp
Level 4: 800 Exp
Level 5: 1,000 Exp
Level 6: 1,200 Exp
Level 7: 1,400 Exp
Level 8: 1,600 Exp
Level 9: 1,800 Exp
Level 10: 2,000 Exp
Level 11: 2,200 Exp
Level 12: 2,400 Exp
Level 13: 2,600 Exp
Level 14: 2,800 Exp
Level 15: 3,000 Exp
Level 16: 3,200 Exp
Level 17: 3,400 Exp
Level 18: 3,600 Exp
Level 19: 3,800 Exp
Level 20: 4,000 Exp
Your level also determines how many Hitpoints you have:
Level 1: 100 Exp
Level 2: 110 Exp
Level 3: 120 Exp
Level 4: 130 Exp
Level 5: 140 Exp

Talismans
While posting, you also collect talismans. To gain these, you need to have your post layout in your post. Information on this can be found above. You gain 20 talismans per post. You may also receive talismans from defeating monsters, as well as random encounters. You can spend talismans at the shop and trade items with other players.
Hitpoints
Hitpoints are your remaining life force. If you lose all your HP, then you die. You cannot be revived until an hour after the post was made that killed you, or until a traveling healer or other random encounter heals you. Beware, these services are not always free, and they may help themselves to your talismans and items!
Status Conditions
There are several status conditions that can be affect your character:
Poisoned Your character is poisoned. This can occur from eating something tainted or rotten, or by a curse. Each post, you lose 1 HP.
Paralyzed Your character has been shocked or cursed into a state of paralysis. You can only attack every other post.
Burned Your character has been burned by a flame or other hot item. You lose 1 HP the first move you make after being burned, then 2 HP, then 3, 4, 5... so on, so forth, till it is cured.
Frozen Your character is frozen solid. You cannot move for 5 posts.
Asleep Your character is in a deep sleep. You cannot move for 5 posts.
Dead You are dead! You cannot battle or gain experience. You can cure this by waiting an hour after the post that killed you was made, or by waiting for a random encounter to heal you.
Battling
You can battle with other players and any random monsters that show up.
You cannot battle with the "Dead" status condition.
Monsters hat appear in random encounters can be of any level and drop random items.
You can only battle one monster at a time.
You can only battle monsters of the opposite faction as you. For example, the Archer Elf is of the Light Troops. You cannot battle it unless you are in the Dark Forces.
The amount of damage you receive is randomly determined based on the range of that specific attack. You can also be inflicted with a status condition based on the type of attack it is. For example, if you are hit by Fire Arrow, you can receive between 3-5 damage and you may be inflicted with a burn.
To attack, post that you have struck them with your weapon, etc. Post the amount of damage your weapon does. This can be found in the Items Database. Wait for the monster to attack back. Continue till one of you dies. If you win, then you can claim any items the monster drops.
Random Encounters
Sometimes, random characters or items will show up in the thread. They will show up something like this:

You must quote the sentence and post that your character has claimed the item or started battle with the monster. Then you may battle with the monster or claim the items in your inventory.
