I understand that they can be useful but in my personal opinion it wasn't too useful. Assembly language is kind of like a dead language in my opinion.

On the contrary, I said that assembly language classes AREN'T useful, and that presenting assembly language as one part of a larger CPU design class is MUCH more relevant than trying to teach some kind of assembly as an actual programming language.

If you managed to get through an algorithms class without studying algorithm analysis... um... I really worry about the quality of your school's CS program. The problem may entirely be your SCHOOL.
